| ¡@¡@ Accounting institute with a history of nearly 40 years is an organization with its membership opened to all students, including those from night school. Its purposes are to affirm friendship among students, and to offer a conduit to the relationship of students, teachers, and alumni. With this in mind, activities such as academic, athletic, literary, and recreative have regularly held, with students, teachers, and alumni being invited to avail themselves of those opportunities to participate. Alternatively, students are urged to take part in other on-campus and national activities in order to learn more good attributes from others. There are inter-departmental games, school games, nationwide collegiate accounting men basketball and women volleyball tournaments, nationwide collegiate accounting speech contests. Teams of this department have been competing vigorously under the motto of "Be the first only, never be the second best", and have won many championship prizes and trophies, such as championship of the third nationwide collegiate accounting speech contest, championships of school games, track and field events, cheer-squad, and chorus. The accounting institute was also awarded as the best group by the Ministry of Education. The institute publishes "Accounting News" and "Accounting Quarterly", with contents including academic researches, essays, short novels, etc. coming from teachers and students.
¡@¡@ The institute is presided over by a chairman, and two deputy chairmen, elected by votes of all students. The chairman in turn appoints a team of staff members to help him put forth activities. Under the institute, there are 12 divisions: they are academic study, public relations, activities, athletics, editing, information, secretariat, art and publicity, finance, general affairs, business functions, and chorus, each working within its commissioned duties. A division is under the charge of a division head, with several members. Budgets and activities of the institute are under the supervision of the general assembly, the ad hoc committee, and the supervisionary board. The supervisors, elected by all students of each class, are responsible for examining annual budgets and finalizing financial statements.
The institute plays an important role to the collegiate life of all students, who, through their participations in activities, may enjoy and relax themselves at leisure, exercise physique, and seize any opportunities to learn how to communicate, coordinate, take responsibilities, delegate authority, to under-stand self-discipline, and to increase their abilities as useful means to get along well with others. |
